twinkle time

We went to a very cute little birthday party at a kid's restaurant in Brentwood. Too bad I can't remember the name but it's located on Santa Monica Boulevard (I think). Hmmmm.....whatever exit you use to get to UCLA from the 405 is the same exit for this establishment. The only difference is that it's in the opposite direction. Anyhoo! Here are some snaps.........

church anniversary

It has been a super busy weekend. One day, I'm going to have to get at least 8 hours sleep. In the meantime, check out these pictures from my church anniversary.

This makes me think of "Yes We Can!"

My significant other and his friends from work

I love the elderly. I don't know this woman, but she looks like she's sweet as pie.

I know for a fact that this one is sweet as pie.

Pastor's oldest son. Fine young man. I expect great things from this one.

showering baby

One of my girlfriends recently welcomed a baby girl to the family. The little princess joined her 4 year old big brother to round things out. These pictures were taken a mere 3 days before she delivered. Natural I might add.

She was GLOWING!

Did I mention the baby was nine pounds nine ounces?

It's all about the shoes

Yes. It tastes as good as it looks.

The shower host custom designed this for the cake maker.

White cake with real strawberries inside. Sinfully delicious!

I was just playing around with my tripod and timer.

Nothing like celebrating new life!

baseball

My oldest son keeps us busy. These days, we are scurrying him off to an extra-curricular activity seven days a week. Sometimes he has to take his baseball uniform off in the car to change into his basketball uniform. Other days he's taking off the basketball jersey to put on the Cub Scout tie. He's a great kid and takes it all in stride. If he says it's too much, mommy will pump the brakes. Here's a couple of shots from baseball opening day.

I look at this picture and see a young Jackie Robinson

Waiting for the team to be called onto the field.

Little brother wants so bad to do everything big brother does.

I was trying to get a shot of my son behind the fence and totally ignored that the picture was blurry because my eye sight is deteriorating. It turned out the camera was focusing on the fence, not what was behind it. I liked it. I thought it was kind of eclectic.

The subjects I was actually trying to catch.........

getting into stuff

My baby boy is all boy. Except when he gets in my closet and sports my stilettos or follows behind his big sister strapping her purse on his shoulder. Other than that, he's all boy to the core. Being the little testosterone lad that he is, he loves getting into stuff. The stickier or muddier the better.

This was a black magic marker.................

This is one of his faves ..... lotion!

Chocolate. I hope. If it's not chocolate we might have a problem.

He made his way into my closet...................

His other favorite........yogurt.

More yogurt. DOH!

afternoon of basketball

These days if I'm not home taking care of things or in class finishing up my degree, I'm either on the baseball field or basketball court. My son is involved in some organized sport 7 days a week. This was a slow afternoon behind the Boys & Girls Club. I never leave home without my Nikon........

Capturing the sign from a wider angle (is that a technical term?)

Luckily they had a playground. My daughter is such a trooper. She doesn't really care for sports but she hangs in there day after day.

There was lots of dirt to get into. She'll hate me for this picture in about 20 years. Her hair is an absolute mess. Her face is dirty. AND she has no teeth.

Baby boy lives for dirt. And water. And mud. And sticky stuff. Anything that makes me cringe.

I'm really working on the artistic eye. Capturing those pictures that traveling photographers capture. This made me think of a third world Caribbean island.

It was a cloudy day so I'm left to wonder whether or not the colors in this backboard would have been more vibrant.

My baby boy is not shy with the little ladies. That concerns me.

Can't wait to see what tomorrow has in store for me and my Nikon.

my favorite subject

I had a good time taking this photos. This was our first full day with the new addition to our family.

Sallie took to my baby boy first. I guess he was the closet in size to her.

Laughter is chicken soup for the soul. My son's laughter is my chicken soup.

Baby boy is a take charge kinda kid.
